This quarter-final first leg puts pressure on Bayern Munich as they face a well-structured Inter side that is unbeaten in their last 10 matches, with their only loss in the group stage coming in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

While Bayern does hold a strong head-to-head record against Inter having won both home and away 2-0 just a couple of seasons ago the situation this time around is very different.

The German giants are missing several key players due to injury: Musiala, Neuer, Upamecano, Davies, Coman, and Pavlovic all regular starters

will be unavailable.

So far in this campaign, Bayern hasn’t looked like the dominant, lethal side of previous seasons. They’ve struggled offensively against well-organized defenses and have often failed to create enough clear chances. On top of that, they’ve looked vulnerable to counter-attacks a scenario that suits Inter perfectly, given their efficiency in transitioning from defense to attack.
