Barcelona
Barcelona is in red-hot form, currently on a 12-game unbeaten streak. Their impressive run has allowed them to close the gap at the top of La Liga, now level on points with Real Madrid for the first time this season.
Today, they face an out-of-form Las Palmas side that has been hit hard by injuries to key players, leading to a significant dip in performances. As a result, they are now on a seven-game winless streak.
At home, Las Palmas has been relatively solid, collecting 13 points, but most of those have come against teams in the lower half of the table. When facing top-six opponents, they have struggled—falling 1-2 to Villarreal and 2-3 to Athletic Bilbao.
One of their few bright spots was a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid earlier in the season, though the circumstances for both teams were different at the time.
Barcelona also had a tough time against Las Palmas last season, needing a dramatic 93rd-minute goal from Gündoğan to secure a comeback win after conceding first. Given their current form, however, they will be aiming for a much more comfortable victory this time around.
What we say
Barcelona to Win
With key absences in both defense and attack—including McKenna, captain Rodríguez, Silva, and Cardona—Las Palmas comes into this match as a vulnerable opponent. Their poor form only adds to their struggles, making them susceptible to Barcelona’s high-pressing style, which relentlessly punishes defensive mistakes.
Barcelona, currently the most in-form team in La Liga, also boasts the league’s best away record, having collected 27 points in 13 matches. Given their dominance, superior individual and team quality, and the urgent need for points to stay in the title race, we expect them to secure an away win. With their attacking firepower, they could well score more than once in the process.
